W. “Mac” MacIlroy
serves as MMA’s president and CEO. He assumed the
leadership position in August 2000. Formerly, he was president
and CEO of the Virginia Manufacturers Association in Richmond.
He joined that organization in 1988, became president in
1990 and was named chief executive officer in 1998.
MacIlroy currently serves on the board of the National
Association of Manufacturers, and recently completed
terms as vice chairman of the National Industrial Council
and chairman of the Council of State Manufacturers Associations. He served
on Virginia’s Administrative Law Advisory Committee and on the state’s
Workforce Council, where he chaired the Existing Workforce Committee.

As director
of regulatory affairs for MMA, Johnston is responsible
for advocacy to state regulatory agencies and the legislature
in the areas of air and water quality, solid and hazardous
waste, wetlands, economic growth issues and electric industry
restructuring. In addition to testifying on behalf of the
manufacturing industry, Johnston leads several MMA member
policy committees, including the MMA Air Quality, Water
Quality and Environmental Quality Advisory Committees.

Amy
Shaw was appointed to the Michigan Manufacturers Association’s
newly-created position of director of education and employment
relations in 2001. She has more than 13 years of experience
in program development and implementation, including eight
years in her previous capacity as MMA’s director
of education.
