HOLLAND — A division of auto supplier Magna plans a $10.1 million expansion in Holland Charter Township.
Magna Sealing and Glass Systems, a manufacturing operation of Magna Exteriors and Interiors, announced today that the company would expand its operations in Holland to develop, test and commercialize a new automotive sunroof technology.
The Michigan Economic Development Council awarded a $1.2 million Business Development Incentive for the project, which could result in the creation of 177 jobs.
According to a statement, Magna chose to expand in Michigan over competing sites. Holland Charter Township planned to offer the company a 12-year tax abatement.
“Magna Sealing and Glass is thrilled with the collaborative work of MEDC, Holland Charter Township, and Lakeshore Advantage to help advance our project and provide continued growth in the Holland area,” Bruce Warren, general manager, Magna Sealing and Glass Systems, said in a statement.
