“West Michigan is poised for significant economic expansion in 2013. The business environment in Michigan may be the best it has been in any of our lifetimes with a simplified business tax code, rational regulatory environment and Right to Work. Combine these government improvements with a strong recovery in the automotive industry and you have the makings of a very strong year.
"As is always the case, there are significant unknowns — how smoothly will the new health care program be implemented, how steep is the ‘fiscal cliff,’ how will Europe manage through its financial crisis? The big unknown in West Michigan is whether or not we, as a region, can deliver the quality and quantity of talent to meet the needs of growing employers. I am convinced we can, which will make for a strong 2013.
