GRAND RAPIDS — Construction firm Owen-Ames-Kimball Co. announced Friday that Frank Stanek would take over as company president starting Jan. 1.
Stanek replaces longstanding president Bill Schoonveld, who has led the company since 2005 and will remain with the company as a corporate adviser.
In a 2010 MiBiz story on the leadership process at O-A-K, Stanek said he had been on the receiving end of a great deal of mentorship from Schoonveld and others at the company, noting the executive team’s “open-door policy.”
“Working with Bill Schoonveld for years, I have learned a lot about what it takes to be successful in an extremely competitive industry,” Stanek said in a statement. “I see great things for our company ahead.”
Stanek joined O-A-K in 1996 and is the eighth president in the company’s 122-year history. In his previous role, he served as the company’s vice president.
