GRAND RAPIDS – Construction on Grand Valley State University’s L. William Seidman Center at 38 Front Ave. is nearing an important milestone.

Pioneer Construction and the university will celebrate the progress with a final beam raising ceremony on Feb. 21 at 1:30 p.m.

The new building will house the Seidman College of Business as well as the Small Business and Technology Development Center.

The $40 million public/private project broke ground last May and is expected to open in the fall of 2013. It will be GVSU’s 16th LEED-certified building.
