GRAND RAPIDS — Davenport University announced plans for a new sports complex to be built on 68th Street in Caledonia Township just south of its W.A. Lettinga Campus.

The complex will sit on 17 acres that were donated by Farmers Insurance Group of Companies. Features include baseball and softball fields with seating for 300 and 200 spectators respectively, eight tennis courts, a press box, concessions and other amenities.

Richard J. Pappas, president of Davenport University, said in a release, "This new space will complement our current athletic facilities at the W.A. Lettinga Campus and provide student athletes new opportunities for training and competition. Also, this new complex will be a wonderful new venue to stage community events."
