HOLLAND — Office furniture manufacturer Haworth Inc. announced Wednesday that it sold one of its companies, the Quebec, Canada-based Groupe Lacasse.

Haworth sold Groupe Lacasse to an independent investor group headed by Sylvain Garneau, the CEO of the company since 2010. Among the investors is the family of Guy Lacasse.

“We look forward to Haworth and Groupe Lacasse maintaining a relationship as mutual customers and suppliers,” Franco Bianchi, Haworth President & CEO, stated in a release. “Groupe Lacasse will experience greater opportunity to operate in the marketplace as an independent company, while maintaining a strong connection to the business opportunities offered by Haworth. It will be an exciting entrepreneurial opportunity for Sylvain and the entire team as they build on the positive momentum they have been developing.”

In a statement, Haworth noted the sale would allow both companies to be flexible in serving customers and help both achieve long-term growth and profitability goals.
