HOLLAND — Petoskey native Trevor Doublestein, who owns Doublestein Builders in Holland, is building himself a brewery, to be named Our Brewing Co. at 76 East 8th Street in Holland.

Dane Sexton is a partner in the venture.

“I have been a home brewer for about five years and I have a passion to do this,” Doublestein said. “I also own a building business so I can build what we need – so I think I have a financial advantage.”

Born in Petoskey, Doublestein grew up in Wayland but graduated from Grand Haven High School. He now lives in Holland.

“Our Brewing Company will feature a post-prohibition celebratory spirit and a hometown, neighborhood pub feeling,” the brewery states on its website. “We want our patrons to feel comfortable popping in for one beer, or staying all afternoon with a good book or to watch a football game.”

Doublestein said Our Brewing, which is expected to open in October, will not include a kitchen for hot food, but pub snacks will be available.

“I have been working on a business plan for this for about three years,” Doublestein said. “Now, I’m jumping in with both feet.”

Partners in another new brewery in the Holland area, Big Lake Brewing, reportedly hope to open sometime early next year. The two newcomers will join New Holland Brewing Co., which was established in Holland in 1997.
