 Advanced battery manufacturer LG Chem has started production of lithium-ion batteries at its more than $300 million facility in Holland, MiBiz reported late yesterday. Shipments could start as soon as late September.

Portage-based law firm Kreis, Enderle, Hudgins, & Borsos PC has opened a new office at 800 Port Street in downtown St. Joseph. Business and estate attorney Brian McMahon joined the firm and will help it recruit additional attorneys to work out of St. Joseph, according to a statement. The firm expects to employ six to eight attorneys in St. Joseph over the next three to five years.

Grand Rapids-based Uncle Goose launched its new “Big and Tall” decorative wood block toys on Aug. 1. The wooden toy company will sell the sets of colorful letters for $80, according to an announcement. Uncle Goose remains one of the last manufacturers in the world of handmade wooden toy blocks, which feature non-toxic inks and are made from basswood.

Grand Rapids-based Internet advertising firm Adtegrity.com (Pink Sheets: ADTY) reported net income of $174,082 for the second quarter on revenues of $3.96 million, compared with net income of $270,275 on revenues of $4.8 million for the same quarter last year, according to a press release. That compares to the prior quarter in which the company posted a net loss of $54,837 on revenues of $3.07 million. Ad impressions for the second quarter, 61 billion, also increased 26.5 percent versus the first quarter.
