The advisory firm KPMG LLP has leased space in the Franklin Partners-owned 99 Monroe building, according to a statement.

The new office space should accommodate growth for the audit, tax and advisory firm as it looks to add services in the local market. KPMG will employ 60 people at the new office.

“Although KPMG has served clients in the Grand Rapids area for a number of years now, our needs and services have grown, necessitating a move to a new, larger innovative physical space,” Michigan Managing Partner Heather Paquette said in a statement. “We have a strong commitment to the Grand Rapids market and wanted this move downtown to reflect that commitment.”

Illinois-based Franklin Partners purchased the building in 2013 and renovated it into Class A offices. With the new lease and another deal in the works, the building effectively has about 9,000 square feet of available space, according to a spokesperson for the developer.
