Learning Solutions Corp., which has its administrative and training offices in Grand Rapids, acquired the assets of Boston, Mass.-based CompuWorks Systems Inc. on August 6. The deal for CompuWorks, a provider of training, included its eight full-time and 15 part-time employees, who will work out of offices in either Detroit or Long Island, N.Y. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Chief Administrative Officer Scott McLean told MiBiz that CompuWorks’ proprietary training software attracted N.H. Learning Solutions to the deal. In late March, N.H. Learning Solutions also acquired Connecticut-based technology consulting firm Adnet Technologies LLC.

• M&A: Grand Rapids-based Walgren Co., a manufacturer of anodizing and plating systems, was acquired last month by Price-Koch Industries, a division of Evansville, Ind.-based George Koch Sons. The acquisition will add to Price-Koch’s portfolio of anodizing capabilities, according to a statement released by the company. • Expansion: Grand Rapids-based Charter Capital Partners opened a new office in downtown Detroit. The location adds to the investment banking and M&A firm’s existing offices in Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo and Mishawaka, Ind. Lakeland offers rehab services throughout Southwest Michigan, including at hospitals in Niles, St. Joseph and Watervliet.
