GRAND RAPIDS — Neighborhood cafe and roastery Rowster Coffee Inc. is planning to introduce a new concept to the city’s West Side.

The East Hills business announced in a statement yesterday that it will open The Rower’s Club — a 1,400-square-foot coffee shop concept — on the ground floor of the mixed-use Fulton Place development at 616 West Fulton Street.

“We are really excited about this special opportunity to build-out the perfect café from the ground up with new construction,” Rowster Coffee owner Kurt Stauffer said in a statement. “We are designing the space to offer high-quality, quick drinks and snacks for people on the go, as well as a unique experience for neighbors to gather around coffee brewed to order.”

The cafe is expected in September 2016, shortly after the student housing-focused Fulton Place — developed and managed by Rockford Construction Co. Inc. — opens.
