After opening its first West Michigan office late last year, Level One Bank has brought on veteran commercial banker Doug Kohlbeck as a senior vice president.

Kohlbeck leads commercial banking at Level One Bank’s new office at Burton Street and Breton Road on Grand Rapids’ southeast side. Kohlbeck will launch the bank’s commercial banking division in Grand Rapids that will include commercial lending, treasury management and private banking.

He joined the Farmington Hills-based Level One Bank from Macatawa Bank, where he was vice president of commercial lending in Grand Rapids.

The privately-held Level One Bank has 11 offices, 10 in the Detroit area and the new Grand Rapids location, with $1.10 billion in total assets and total deposits of $944.7 million. The bank may add offices in the Grand Rapids market in the future, President and CEO Patrick Fehring told MiBiz in an interview last fall.
