LANSING — LorAnn Oils Inc., a Lansing-based manufacturer and distributor of premium flavorings and oils, plans to invest $1.5 million to expand in Lansing.
The expansion announcement today comes in conjunction with the Lansing Brownfield Redevelopment Authority approving an 11-year extension of the company’s original brownfield plan from 2005, according to a statement.
As part of the investment, the company plans to build two single-story additions at its existing location on North Aurelius Road. LorAnn Oils projects expects to create nine new jobs as part of the project.
The company acquired a 0.75-acre parcel of land just west of its existing property to facilitate the expansion.
“We’ve simply outgrown our current facilities and this addition will us to continue to operate in Lansing without moving,” John Grettenberger, CEO of LorAnn Oils, said in a statement released by the Lansing Economic Area Partnership (LEAP), the regional economic development group that helped facilitate the expansion.
“The brownfield support helps us justify the purchase and necessary improvements of additional property directly behind LorAnn,” Grettenberger stated. “Moreover, moving much of our parking behind our building should significantly enhance the street-side appearance of our expanded building.”
