DELTON — Clark Brothers Construction Inc. filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy today in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Michigan.
The Delton, Mich.-based contractor reported in the court filing that it owed between $500,000 and $1 million to secured and unsecured creditors. The company listed $29,250 in assets in the court filing.
In the bankruptcy filing today, Clark Brothers said it owed $70,740 to secured creditors, including Parchment-based Advia Credit Union and Cherry Hill, N.J.-based Web Bank.
Additionally, the construction firm reported it owes $557,144 to 31 unsecured creditors including Nunica-based RA Homes, Nashville, Mich.-based Hometown Lumber and others. The largest unsecured creditor is Clark Brothers president Benjamin L. Clark, who loaned $250,000 to the company.
The company, incorporated in the state of Michigan in October 2012, provides general contracting, residential new construction, design/build services and other related services.
Its headquarters are located at 7600 S. Norris Rd. in Delton.
The company is working with Redmond & Redmon PLC in Kalamazoo for legal representation, according to the filing.
Clark Brothers did not immediately return calls for comment as this report was published.
