An out-of-state platform manufacturing company owned by Grand Rapids-based Blackford Capital has acquired Oklahoma City, Okla.-based Custom Composites.

According to a statement, Hanover, Pa.-based McClarin Plastics, a maker of engineered thermoformed plastics, fiberglass and composite products that Blackford acquired in 2015, bought the company to expand its reach in the central and southern U.S.

Custom Composites makes polypropylene and composite fiberglass products including tanks, grating, fire apparatus and custom parts, according to a statement.

The companies serve the industrial equipment, construction, rail, transportation, energy, agricultural and medical industries.
