WYOMING — The owners of the Garage Bar & Grill are selling the bar to the owners of India Town, a restaurant located adjacent to the bar along South Division Avenue.

HOLLAND — A luxury five-story residential and commercial building planned in Holland received approval Tuesday from the Michigan Strategic Fund board for $2.2 million in brownfield incentives. 

GRAND RAPIDS — Third Coast Development LLC and PD Development Group plan to convert part of the main building on the Dominican Sisters’ Marywood campus into 109 apartment units of affordable and market-rate senior housing. 

Two West Michigan affordable housing projects have secured $1.9 million in a recent funding round from the Michigan State Housing Development Authority.

LUDINGTON — A Grand Rapids developer and Lansing-based nonprofit investor Michigan Community Capital are hoping to turn a donated building into apartments in Ludington.

On the heels of a range of downtown developments coming online in recent years, Orion Real Estate Solutions saw further demand for Class A office space in Grand Rapids. 

Backed by an infusion of $55 million in federal funds, Lansing-based Michigan Community Capital plans to continue investing in mixed-income housing projects across the state. 

GRAND RAPIDS — A development partnership wants to convert the massive former Display Pack Inc. building at 1340 Monroe Ave. NW into a 310-unit affordable housing project.

GRAND RAPIDS — New ownership plans to turn Local 741 into a neighborhood bar after acquiring the site from a partnership involving an affiliate of Third Coast Development LLC. James Matthews, owner of Iron Well LLC, purchased 741 Leonard St. NW and Local 741 from Third Coast on March 20. Terms of the deal, which included Class C liquor and specialty designated merchant licenses, and the property transaction were not disclosed.

GRAND RAPIDS — Developers relied on low-income tax credits to add nearly 2,000 units of affordable housing in the city over the last five years. While the credits provide key gap financing to affordable housing developers, officials who administer the funding say the program is consistently “oversubscribed,” leading to delays for new projects.

• M&A: Norton Shores-based Nichols Paper and Supply Co. has acquired Indianapolis, Ind.-based Spectrum Janitorial Supply, a provider of cleaning supplies, in a move to continue expanding in the Midwest. Nichols, a distributor of janitorial cleaning supplies and shipping and packing equipment, closed on the transaction on Nov. 6, according to a statement. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Nichols’ previous acquisitions include Professional Sanitary Supply Corp., Kellermeyer Co. and Industrial Cleaning Supply Co. The company has offices in Grand Rapids, Detroit, Holland and Traverse City in Michigan, as well as two offices in Ohio.

Third Coast Development LLC continues to expand its restaurant portfolio.
