Hinman buys Cascade Township office complex

The Hinman Co. recently acquired the 3040 Charlevoix Drive SE office building in Cascade Township. The building is in the Centennial Office Park in Cascade Township near the intersection of I-96 and 28th Street.

“Centennial is the area’s premier commercial office, residential and recreational complex with many amenities that include a country club, hotel and restaurants,” said Kirt Ojala, The Hinman Co.’s regional director of leasing.

“Centennial Office Park has numerous points of ingress and egress, and the Cascade DDA has been working hard to create an exceptional environment with major improvements to sidewalks, landscaping and new streetlights. This is an ideal location, with close proximity to Gerald R. Ford International Airport and easy access to I-96 and M-6.”

Ojala said Hinman will renovate the circa 1973 two-story office building and modernize the common areas. Upgrade plans include new flooring, paint and ceiling tiles throughout the common areas, with granite countertops and new fixtures in the restrooms. Additional improvements will include new mechanical systems and the addition of an elevator.

The 38,919-square-foot building will have open floor plates that can accommodate any office tenant, from 9,000 square feet to a full building user, Ojala said.

The Hinman Co. will oversee the management and leasing of 3040 Charlevoix Drive SE as well as several other office buildings inside Centennial Office Park, including Centennial Plaza, 6000 28th St. SE, the nearby Glenwood Hills Corporate Centre and Horizon Office Park.
