Ongoing projects are solidifying the presence of both Borgess Health and Bronson Healthcare Group in Battle Creek, as the two Kalamazoo-based health systems continue to invest in the market. 

Independent Bank Corp. plans to repay by this fall the money it received in 2009 under the U.S. Department of Treasury’s Troubled Asset Relief Program, or TARP; Kalamazoo Valley Community College is teaming up with Bronson Healthcare Group and Kalamazoo Community Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services to develop a $42 million downtown campus.
