Horn resigns as CEO of Priority Health

After 15 years at the helm, Kim Horn decided to step down as head of Priority Health this spring to pursue a new phase of her career in health care.

The number and type of new resources for existing small businesses in Michigan are growing. That's a focus of a March 20 workshop in Grand Rapids on economic gardening, a key strategy the Michigan Economic Development Corp. is deploying to help existing businesses grow.

Brecksville, Ohio-based medical billing company MedData Inc. announced on Jan. 11 that it acquired MedDirect Inc., a Grand Rapids-based firm that provides personalized patient communications and revenue cycle management services to health care organizations. MedDirect CEO Ken Bloem will join MedData’s board as executive chairman.

Perrigo Co.’s latest acquisition is designed to boost its product line for diabetes care. The Allegan-based company signed a definite agreement to acquire the assets of Alpharetta, Georgia-based CanAm Care for $36 million.
