2 hotel projects in 2 days at Metro Health Village: Granger Group, Stellar Hospitality to develop Fairfield Inn

WYOMING — Metro Health Village has become a focal point for hospitality projects this week.

For the second time in as many days, a developer announced plans to bring a new hotel project to the southwestern corner of Kent County.

This time, Granger Group has partnered with Stellar Hospitality on a new $8 million  Fairfield Inn and Suites hotel at 5970 Metro Way, located at the corner of M-6 and Byron Center Avenue. Construction on the project is expected to start in early summer.

Granger Group worked with Farmington Hills, Mich.-based Premier Realty Services LLC to secure the 110-room, four-story project, according to a statement. The Think Shop Architects of Brighton is handling the project design.

The Wyoming-based property developer said in a statement that the hotel project is “one of several” is expects to launch in 2017. The company is also developing two retail buildings along Byron Center Avenue, where it is targeting several unnamed national tenants.

Granger Group President and CEO Gary Granger called Stellar a “best-in-class brand of hospitality” that will complement the additional the other businesses in the area.

“Becoming neighbors with a world-class health care complex and joining others in this thriving corridor strengthens our ability to provide guests with an exceptional experience,” Stellar Hospitality CEO Malik Abdulnoor said in a statement.

The Fairfield Inn project follows an announcement yesterday that Orion Real Estate Solutions plans to build and develop a 107-room Home2 Suites By Hilton hotel at Metro Health Village. Orion’s $13 million, four-story development is expected to begin this spring with completion planned for spring of 2018.
