COOPERSVILLE — Betten Baker Auto Group plans to invest roughly $4 million to build a new, three-story facility in Coopersville.
The Muskegon-based dealer group’s new facility will include a Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram store and pre-owned “super center,” and will be located west of the company’s Chevrolet Buick store, near 68th street and I-96, according to a statement.
Betten Baker Auto Group plans to hire around 50 workers to staff the new location. The company also purchased five acres just north of the new facility to serve as additional overflow inventory space, said co-owner Chris Baker.
In addition to the expansion project, Betten Baker also aims to close acquisitions of three Grand Auto Family Services Inc. dealerships in Lowell, Grandville and Allegan early next week, Chris Baker said. Betten Baker inked a deal with Grand Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Lowell in January 2017.
The company also acquired Gary Trimarco Chevrolet Buick GMC of Big Rapids last month.
“I think we owe all of our growth to retaining the best talent in the industry and taking care of our employees and our guests,” Chris Baker said.
