Borgess Health, Oaklawn Hospital formalize partnership

Kalamazoo’s Borgess Health and Marshall-based Oaklawn Hospital will strengthen ties under a collaborative partnership.

The agreement formalized a relationship between the two hospitals that already has Borgess-affiliated emergency physicians and other specialists serving patients at the 77-bed Oaklawn Hospital.

Oaklawn serves Calhoun County and parts of Branch and Eaton counties.

Under the new arrangement, an oversight committee will look at expanding access in Marshall to more types of care and medical services.

“This forward-thinking collaboration allows us to work together with the common goal of improving healthcare services and access,” Borgess Health CEO Kathy Young said. “Our ability to deliver safe, high-quality care and enhance the patient experience for the individuals we serve across the region is enhanced by working more closely with the caregivers and physicians of Oaklawn Hospital.”

The partnership will operate under the name THINK Health, an acronym for “transformation, healing, inspiration, nurturing, knowledge.”
