GRAND RAPIDS — After a decade of ownership, Grand Rapids-based Butterball Farms Inc. will sell Stirling Creamery of Ontario to Gay Lea Foods Co-operative Limited.
Stirling Creamery, which makes a variety of artisanal butters, medallions and spreads for the foodservice industry, will join Gay Lea Foods as of November 1, according to a statement.
Stirling Creamery employs approximately 25 workers.
Terms of the sale were not disclosed.
Mississauga, Ontario-based Gay Lea has been on an acquisition spree in recent years, wrapping in Black River Cheese in 2016, Hewitt’s Dairy and Salerno Dairy in 2014, and Ivanhoe Cheese in 2008.
