CityFlats Hotel to close rooftop restaurant

HOLLAND — CityFlats Hotel in downtown Holland today announced it will close its rooftop restaurant next month.

The hotel’s owner, Chuck Reid, said in a statement that CityVu Bistro will remain open through Valentine’s Day and then close down with plans to convert the space to an events and conference facility opening in March.

Part of the reason for turning into the space into events and conference space comes from the success of the ballroom in downtown Grand Rapids’ CityFlats Hotel location, Reid said in the statement.

“The amount of weddings, special events and corporate occasions in the Ballroom made the decision to repurpose CityVu Bistro an easy one,” Reid said in the statement. “We see this as a great opportunity to open the premier events location on the lakeshore with beautiful views of Holland during every season.”

The CitySen Lounge on the ground floor of the Holland hotel will also undergo renovations, allowing for additional seating and adding a fast-casual restaurant with a build-your-own pizza concept.
