GRAND RAPIDS — Lake Michigan Insurance Agency, a division of Grand Rapids-based Lake Michigan Credit Union, acquired Minor Field Agency in Kalamazoo.
Minor Field Agency, founded in 1927, sells personal and commercial lines of insurance. The agency’s president, Art Skogsberg, and partner and co-owner Tom Magrath, Minor Field’s vice president, plan to retire, according to a statement.
“This change of ownership will most definitely be a positive for all concerned – clients, LMIA and Minor Field. Combining our two agencies will provide all our customers with access to a larger, more dynamic portfolio of insurance products,” Skogsberg said. “Both agencies have considerable talent and expertise in all lines of insurance. And we both have steadfast commitments to the highest levels of customer service. Our clients will also gain access to LMCU’s leading, banking, investment and lending services.”
