SAUGATUCK — Months after initiating a deal with Windquest Group, the family investment office for Dick and Betsy DeVos, Holland-based Coppercraft Distillery LLC has expanded with a tasting room in Saugatuck.
The second location at 435 Water St. initially will open four days per week, Thursday through Sunday, with a grand opening on Saturday, Oct. 1. Opening a tasting room in Saugatuck will allow the craft distillery to tap into the tourist traffic and locals in the market, according to a statement.
Coppercraft worked with custom woodworking shop Cento Anni of Holland and Hudsonville-based Premier Metal Products for the interior furnishings at the Saugatuck tasting room.
All of Coppercraft’s products will be available to taste or buy at the tasting room.
As MiBiz first reported, the DeVos-held Windquest Group acquired certain assets of Coppercraft Distillery from founders Walter and Kim Catton, who have stayed on at the business. The deal, which MiBiz first reported on in January, has yet to close.
Coppercraft produces a range of spirits, including vodkas, gin, rum, applejack, bourbon, corn whiskey and rye whiskey.
Editor’s note: This story has been changed from its original version to note that the Windquest-Coppercraft acquisition has not yet closed.
