Indiana developer plans 200 apartments in Grand Rapids-area

An Indianapolis-area investor plans a multifamily housing development behind the Meijer store near the corner of East Beltline Avenue and Knapp Street on the northeast side of Grand Rapids.

American Kendall Properties LLC has acquired seven acres of land at 3100 Knapp St. and plans to build a 200-unit apartment complex, according to a statement.

The acquisition cost and further details on a construction timeline were not immediately available.

Brokers Mary Anne Wisinski-Rosely and Jason Makowski of NAI Wisinski of West Michigan represented Knapp Corner Development LLC in the sale, while American Kendall Properties was represented by Doug Todd of Berkshire Hathaway.

Michael Speedy, principal at American Kendall Properties, did not return a call from MiBiz seeking comment.
