GRAND RAPIDS — Flint Community Schools has selected a Grand Rapids-based public relations firm as its agency of record.
As part of the 13-month contract, Lambert, Edwards & Associates Inc. will create a communications plan for the school district to better improve transparency and enhance community relations, according to a statement. Additionally, the public relations, investor relations and public affairs firm will offer services ranging from media relations, crisis communication and content development.
The Flint Board of Education approved the contract for “communications services” and “special projects” by a 7-1 vote on May 18. The board put out the contract for competitive bid.
Under the terms of the agreement, Lambert, Edwards will bill the district $133.75 per hour for services, which are not to exceed $100,000, according to the resolution approved by the board. The contract includes a 60-day notice termination clause and runs through the 2016-2017 school year, which ends June 30, 2017.
Flint Superintendent Bilal Tawwab did not respond to a request for comment. Lambert, Edwards President Jeff Lambert said in an email to MiBiz that he could not discuss specifics of the deal as as a condition of the contract.
