MATTAWAN — MPI Research Inc. has named Rob DeWit as its new president.
DeWit, who previously ran the Southwest Michigan Innovation Center, immediately assumed day-to-day responsibilities at the pre-clinical testing lab, the company said today. His appointment follows the February retirement of CEO Bill Parfet, MPI’s founder.
DeWit has served for several years on the MPI Scientific Advisory Board and provided leadership training at the company.
“It has been my pleasure to engage with MPI Research in numerous capacities over the years, and I’ve seen the company grow in remarkable ways,” DeWit said in a press release. “I’m looking forward to joining the team and being part of the company’s next stage of growth during this exciting and progressive time in drug and device development.”
DeWit has 25 years of experience in preclinical drug development. That includes serving as executive director of the Chronic Toxicology Center of Emphasis, as the site lead in Kalamazoo for Pfizer Global R&D, and leadership positions at Parke-Davis, The Upjohn Company, Pharmacia and Pfizer.
