SpartanNash exec promoted to Chief Accounting Officer

BYRON CENTER — SpartanNash Co.’s vice president of finance is getting a promotion.

At the company’s quarterly board of directors meeting, long-time executive Tammy Hurley was named the chief accounting officer for the West Michigan-based food distribution and retailing company, according to a statement. She has been in her former role since 2015.

Hurley started at SpartanNash (Nasdaq: SPTN) in 2001, first working as controller. She was promoted a year later to director of finance and was given added responsibilities, including business segment accounting and corporate financial reporting, analysis and taxes.

“Tammy’s career at SpartanNash has been one of continuous growth and added responsibilities. She has demonstrated outstanding performance in all assignments and grown substantially in her leadership capabilities,” stated President and CEO Dennis Eidson.

A certified public accountant, Hurley will closely with CFO and executive vice president Chris Meyers, according to a statement.
