KALAMAZOO — Stryker Corp. has laid off an undisclosed number of workers in Southwest Michigan as part of a larger restructuring strategy under its Stryker Instruments business unit.
The announcement, confirmed by a Stryker spokesperson to MiBiz, comes in the wake of a proposed $130 million investment by the medical device manufacturer in a new 435,000-square-foot research and development campus in Portage.
However, the layoffs will not affect the company’s plans for the new facility, the spokesperson said.
