GRAND RAPIDS — The Right Place Inc. has partnered with the Michigan Economic Development Corp. (MEDC) to host a free event aimed at connecting West Michigan businesses with supporting resources.
Those participants attending the West Michigan Resource Connect event will hear presentations from approximately 15 different organizations and have time to connect with those groups. The event also will offer networking opportunities prior to the presentations.
“Too many times, businesses assume what resources are or are not available, and most of the time that’s incorrect,” said Tim Mroz, vice president of communications and marketing at The Right Place. “This will be a good opportunity for businesses to relearn or discover the business resources out there to help.”
The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 25 at the Grand Valley State University Eberhard Center and go until 2:00 p.m. Though the event is free to attend, registration is required.
The MEDC is underwriting the event.
The event comes as an extension of The Right Place’s business retention strategy, which involves making 250 one-on-one meetings with West Michigan businesses a year to determine their needs, Mroz said. By gathering businesses at the event, The Right Place aims to reach more businesses than it would otherwise.
“If it goes well, I certainly see it being done in the future, but it will depend on the feedback — and it can’t replace those one-on-one visits,” Mroz said. “The value of information you get from sitting across the table from business leaders, that will never go away.”
