GRAND RAPIDS — CWD Real Estate Investment Inc. is nearing completion on a project that will offer offices in a downtown historic building.
After seven years of planning and two years of work, the Class A loft office building at 37 Ottawa Ave. NW will open later this month, the company announced today.
“The renovations at 37 Ottawa and 50 Monroe reflect CWD’s mission to provide the best places for people to live, work and be entertained in Grand Rapids,” CWD Partner Sam Cummings said in a statement. “It is especially meaningful for us when that mission also involves restoring and preserving historic Grand Rapids sites.”
Office and retail suites available for lease provide open floor plans, with each floor offering 15,500 square feet of open space. Suites from 2,000 to 30,000 square feet are available.
CWD is in search of a partner to occupy a 7,000-square-foot restaurant space on the ground floor of the building next to 20 Monroe Live and the Van Andel Arena. The location includes an outdoor patio space.
The 132-year-old building initially was home to Grand Rapids Refrigerator Co. It is adjacent to the AC Hotel by Marriott at 50 Monroe, which is scheduled to open June 3.
CWD has owned the 50 Monroe property since 2012.
