KALAMAZOO — Campus Advantage Inc., a student housing management company based in Austin, Texas, has taken over management of a property in Kalamazoo, near Western Michigan University.
The company chose to manage 700 SoHo, an apartment building located at 700 S. Howard St., after prior success with renovating The Wyatt at 5200 Croyden Ave. in Kalamazoo.
Built in 2001, 700 SoHo is a 122-unit apartment community with two and four-bedroom units.
In a statement, Madison Meier, vice president of Campus Advantage, said she is “thrilled” to acquire the building and expand the company further into the region.
“We look forward to enhancing the overall living experience for the property’s current and future residents and to helping the property continue to compete in and maintain its strong performance in the Kalamazoo market,” she said.
The property is undergoing “substantial” unit renovations, according to Campus Advantage, which include new flooring, appliances, countertops and cabinets, as well as updated finishes.
The company expects renovations to be complete this fall.
