DDA Adds Dunlap

GRAND RAPIDS — City commissioners appointed Huntington Bank of West Michigan President James Dunlap to the Downtown Development Authority last week. Dunlap will fill the seat vacated by former Grand Rapids Community College President Juan Olivarez, who left the school to take a post at the Kalamazoo Community Foundation.

Mayor George Heartwell nominated Dunlap for the nine-member DDA board, which oversees and promotes economic development in the Central Business District. Dunlap joins Fifth Third Bank President and CEO Michelle VanDyke and retired Old Kent Bank executive John Canepa on the board.

Heartwell, David Cassard, Cathy Mueller, Paul Mayhue, Kayem Dunn and Joseph Tomaselli are also board members. Dunlap’s term will end in January.
